Sydney Sweeney's acting skills 'slammed' by Hollywood producer Carol Baum - 'she's not pretty'
Sydney Sweeney’s career just keeps climbing, however, it seems not everyone is a fan of the Euphoria star’s work, as producer Carol Baum, made her feelings loud and clear.
The Hollywood producer is behind hit movies including Father of the Bride and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, as well as her work with Dolly Parton’s TV and film production company. From her recent ‘rant’ it looks like Sydney Sweeney won’t be featured in any of her projects any time soon…
Carol Baum says Sydney Sweeney ‘can’t act’
Although she’s quickly becoming Hollywood’s ‘IT girl’ producer Carol Baum didn’t have many good words to say about the Anyone But You star.
“There’s an actress who everybody loves now – Sydney Sweeney, I don’t get Sydney Sweeney,” the producer said during a recent discussion after a screening of her 1988 film Dead Ringers, the Daily Mail reports.
After revealing she watched one of her “unwatchable movies,” Anyone But You, on the plane, she told New York Times film critic Janet Maslin: “I wanted to know who she is and why everybody’s talking about her.”
“I said to my class, “Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?'”
The producer then recalled her class asking, “Well, if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?”
“Well, that’s a really good question…that’s a very hard question to answer because we all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made,” she cleverly responded.
The ‘unbothered star’ is living her best life
We’re sure the words won’t mean much to the 26-year-old, who is currently living her best life, professionally and personally.
After the major success of HBO’s Euphoria, for which she received an Emmy nomination, she was catapulted into Tinsel Town. She’s now a two-time Emmy nominee, receiving a nom for her role as Olivia Mossbacher in season 1 of The White Lotus.
Sweeney’s been engaged to her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, since 2022, and although the couple keeps things low-key, she seems to be shining!
