Non-league footballer branded 'coward' for one of worst red card tackles you'll ever see
A non-league footballer has been slammed on social media for a reckless studs-up tackle that has been described as 'cowardly'.
Calls for the aggressor to face a lengthy ban were made by fans after Jaevon Dyer of Epsom & Ewell FC was taken out during their Southern Combination Football League Division One play-off final against Wick FC.
Before Dyer and his team-mates went on to secure a memorable promotion, he was fortunate to escape serious injury after being hit with a studs-up challenge at knee height.

Having knocked the ball down the line at speed, the tackle came flying in with both feet off the ground as contact was made to the standing leg.
Dyer rolled away in pain as his team-mates ran to confront the tackler, who ended up being pushed to the ground before being shown a straight red card.
One comment said in response: "Cowards challenge that embarrassing. Long ban pending I hope."

A third agreed: "That is disgusting! Cowardly as well!" A fourth reply said: "Disgusting. Proper cowards tackle that."
A fifth posted: "This may be the worst tackle I've seen at local level. Honestly far from funny, this is horrific."

Epsom & Ewell finished second in the Division 1 table with Wick in fourth, now joining Shoreham in the Premier Division - which is level nine on the football pyramid.
Kinetic Academy, who were keeping an eye on their graduate, wrote on Twitter: "Kinetic graduate Jaevon Dyer very lucky to escape serious injury after this horrific tackle on him today playing for Epsom & Ewell.
"We’ve spoken to Jaevon and he’s ok thankfully."
