PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) Joe “Terry” Terranova, 78, longtime frontman of Danny and the Juniors, died of natural causes at his home in Williamstown April 15, according to former bandmate Frank Marffei. Terry began his career singing on the street corners of Philadelphia before forming a group called the Juvenaires with three other neighborhood teens. The name was eventually changed to Danny & The Juniors. The singing group included Danny Rapp, David White and Maffei.

David Paul Lyons Sr. David Paul Lyons Sr., 80, of Laurel passed away on Dec. 23, 2023 at South Central Regional Medical Center  David was born in Laurel on July 15, 1943, to Cuvier and Earline Lyons. He served on the Laurel police force for 26 years and was chief of police for 12 of those years. In 1992, David was elected Jones County Justice Court Judge for District 3.

A former governor of the Mexican state of Jalisco, Aristoteles Sandoval, was shot dead in the bathroom of a restaurant in the popular beach getaway of Puerto Vallarta, local authorities said on Friday.Jalisco state officials said Sandoval was shot in the back by an unidentified assailant while his security detail were outside the restaurant. A shoot-out erupted as his bodyguards began moving Sandoval to hospital. Sandoval’s 2013-18 term as governor was overshadowed by the brutal rise of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), an outfit with local roots which went from relative obscurity to become one of the most powerful drug gangs in the country.
