Melania Trump's absence from Christmas photo finally explained

Melania Trump’s absence from a Trump Christmas family photo has finally been explained after fans wondered where she was.

The picture was taken at the Trump-owned Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, and features the ex-President and 17-year-old Baron, the celebrity couple’s only child. The former First Lady is noticeably missing from the snap. However, sources have now revealed just why Melania missed the photo opportunity.

Melania Trump missing from family photo

Melania Trump missed out on being in the photo with her husband, son, and the rest of their family, in a snap that was shared on Donald Trump Junior’s fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle’s Instagram Story. Now her absence has finally been explained.

Sources told Fox News and Page Six that she was looking after her mother, Amalija Knavs, 78. They said that she was not in good health, so her daughter had been looking after her.

“Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family,” one source told Fox News, “It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother.”

Page Six was told by another source that Amalija has “been very sick in the hospital” and “Melania was by her side.”

This follows the author of Mar-A-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump‘s Presidential Palace, Laurence Leamer, telling The Telegraph that members at the resort where the picture was taken rarely see Trump’s third wife. “Nobody knows where she is. It’s like a mystery. It’s certainly talked about.”

Melania’s disdain for Christmas

Despite Melania Trump’s unfortunate reasons for missing family time and the photo, it may not affect her as much as others due to a recording that surfaced in 2020 on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 show. The secret audio sheds light on how the 53-year-old feels about the festive period.

“I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?” the celebrity can be heard saying in the recording from 2018. “OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas, and they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f****** break.”

Although it does the rounds every year on X (formerly Twitter), Melania has since seemingly clarified how Christmas makes her feel. For the holidays this year, she released NFT Christmas decorations and said: “I am pleased to continue USA Memorabilia’s tradition of celebrating the season with A Red, White and Blue Christmas. This year, I found myself looking to my love for our great nation for inspiration.

“May everyone experience an abundance of peace & love during the holiday season.”
